Social Support Individual

We can offer one-on-one support to help people participate in community life and maintain social contact. Available under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), for eligible people 65+ years old or 55+ years for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.

This service may include:

• Accompanied activities: such as assisting with accompanied shopping, bill-paying, attendance at an appointment, or to accompany the person to a new activity or event for support etc. Negotiable client contribution fee $15 p/h.*
• Social visiting: a volunteer or CCS staff member may call or visit the person in their home who may be lonely or unable to venture out in the community for social interaction. This is a social visit and not for domestic or other services purposes. Voluntary contribution fee, suggestion $5.00*

* A note about Fees:
The Australian Government provides funding for Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) services, however service providers are required to ask that people using the services contribute to their cost, to help the CHSP be financially sustainable. It is expected that clients who can afford to contribute to the cost should do so.
