Our Service | The Role 

Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre is a community based not-for-profit organisation that operates six Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) services in Dubbo. We care for mixed age children including preschool age children (4+ years) and up to primary school aged children. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic Diploma qualified Educator and Nominated Supervisor.

You will be responsible for:

  • the day-to-day management of the service in consultation with the OSHC Coordinator and CEO
  • leading a team of Educators onsite with the overarching support of the OSHC Coordinator (Educational Leader and Nominated Supervisor)
  • developing and facilitating an engaging child-centred weekly program full of various activities such as arts & crafts, STEM, sports, and games
  • ensuring supervision of children in a caring environment
  • managing the day-to-day operations of the service including compliance, records and administration.

Hours: 38 hours. This role is full time or may be offered casual or part time with semi-flexible hours for the right candidate. Ideal candidates will be able to work split shifts at Before School Care and After School Care. After School Care available from 2.30pm-6pm is essential. 

Location(s): At any of our six services located at schools in Dubbo and our office at 31-33 Church St, Dubbo.

About you: Qualifications / Experience / Skills 

  • Be over 18 years old
  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50121/CHC50113/CHC50908 or approved equivalent); OR hold a Certificate III level Early Childhood education and care qualification (CHC30121/CHC30113 or approved equivalent) and willing to work towards the Diploma
  • Relevant experience to effectively supervise and manage the centre (at least 2 years desirable)
  • Current first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management or willing to obtain
  • Child protection certificate (CHCPRT025/CHCPRT001 or equivalent) and willingness to maintain currency
  • Commitment, knowledge, and experience in implementing the National Quality Standards and the EYLF/MTOP learning frameworks
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police History Check
  • Ability to work after school care shifts between 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday-Friday, and vacation care. Ability to also work before school care shifts (if working full time).
  • Hold a current Driver Licence.
