Our Service | The Role: 

Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre is a community based not-for-profit organisation that operates six Outside of School Hours Care (OSHC) services in Dubbo. Our Services care for primary school aged children, with one Service also caring for preschool age children (4+ years).

This is a dual role. We are seeking a capable Administration Officer to work from our office during the day and to be trained to work as an Educator at after school care. The position is casual with permanent part-time or full-time hours available in the future for the right applicant. After School care hours are Monday to Friday from 2.30pm-6pm. Office administration hours are negotiable.

As an Administration Officer you will provide customer service and administer enrolments, bookings and perform other administrative functions to support the service. As an Educator, you will supervise and participate with children doing various activities such as arts & crafts, sporting activities, games, along with the preparation & distribution of afternoon tea and cleaning duties.

Hours: Approx. 35 hours p/w (some flexibility available)

Selection criteria - About You:

  • Prior experience working in an administration role or childcare services.
  • Have proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in the use of Xplor or other Child Care Management Software packages is highly desirable.
  • be over 18 years old.
  • hold a Working With Children's Check (WWCC) clearance, or be willing to obtain before commencement.
  • be willing to undertake a national criminal police check with no disclosable outcomes.
  • no qualifications required, however be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g Child Protection training, first aid and on-the-job/in-house induction and training). 
  • Be available to work weekdays from 2.30pm-6pm weekdays for after school care, and during the day for administration work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues. 
  • Reliable and have a positive attitude
